Heat treatment
Formed products are put through heat treatment after vulcanisation and trimming. Post-production measures target increasing use value of the product, and improve its superficial properties, resistance to ageing and post-vulcanisation.In the case of products that will be used in the food or the pharmaceutical industry decay products should be extracted, and heat treatment is a possible solution for that.
Treating certain products made of special elastomers (Fluor, acrylate & silicone rubber) with heat for the same reasons is essential. Full cross-linking is required, too.
Products are placed in heat insulated chambers equipped with tube fans, and decay products are separated.
Heat treatment lasts 6-24 hours. Silicone and fluor-rubber products are gradually heated to the temperature required, which is 200°C and 220°C at a maximum, respectively. Acrylate rubber products can be heated up to 150°C.
